Kuantan Singingi Islamic University (UNIKS) is a State University in Kuntan
Singingi Regency, Riau. As an educational organizing institution, UNIKS
cooperates with various universities from Riau and outside the region, and one
form of implementation of the cooperation is a student exchange program.
UNIKS student exchange selection activities conducted so far are still
conventional, making this selection less effective. Therefore, this research aims
to build a selection system for UNIKS students in addressing the problem. The
method used in this study is the TOPSIS method. The advantages of the
TOPSIS method can solve decision making practically, because the concept is
simple and easy to understand, the computing is efficient, and has the ability to
measure the relative performance of alternatives - decision alternatives. The
results of this study are in the form of application of UNIKS student exchange
system, which has been tested by topsis algorithm calculation. The test is
intended to ensure the conformity of the functionality of each process
performed by the system, and the TOPSIS algorithm applied to the system. The
system provides recommendations for selected students in each UNIKS student
exchange activity, based on the results of topsis motode calculations, which are
sorted from the largest to the smallest grades.
